Tender Mercies

Tonight I was lying on the couch reading a book and marveling on how peaceful it was (it had been a very long and tiring day) when I heard Bella start crying...It was almost midnight. I said to myself:
"Oh great!" I was not happy and it was obvious. I went in there and tried to calm her down. Not much luck. After I don't know how many renditions of "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus", we sat in her glider for a bit and rocked. As we were sitting there rocking I looked down to see her sweet little face staring back at me, I was immediately taken aback with what a blessing she truly is...to top it all off...I leaned down and kissed her forehead. As I sat back to rest my head, she leaned up and kissed me on the face, laid her hand on chest and patted me and smiled. It was probably the sweetest moment ever in my life. I couldn't help but sit there and cry and hold my precious baby even tighter. I'm grateful for Heavenly Father's lessons on what's really important in life.

December 2009

December was a good month! Definitely a little more busy than I would've liked, but still good.
Some of our top ten from December:

1. Joe Graduated!!!
2.Dave and Michelle came home from school!
3.We got to see Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles
4.We finished our family room. It's functional!
5.Bella learned to shake her booty! Priceless!
6.David got engaged and gave us an excuse to go to Yosemite this Spring!
7.We got to build a snowman! 6 1/ ft. tall mind you!
8.Playing silly games with friends and family!
9.Bella blowing kisses ( they're still wonderfuleven if I got pieces of chicken nugget with them)
10. Having our very own house to decorate for Christmas!

Now that it's a new year and Joe is done with school, we have endless opportunities ahead of us. It's a little daunting but very exciting. We're looking forward to making up for all the missed quality time as a family. We've already planned lots of hikes and outdoor adventures for this spring and summer. One of them including camping for 2 days in southern France! I can't wait!

Christmas was a blast. I love watching the kids get all excited. We were able to treasure up some great memories. I'm grateful for Joe's dad and his Christmas FHE. It was such a sweet reminder of the reason we celebrate. I was asked sing to "O Holy Night" for our Christmas sacrament meeting. It was such a great experience. I don't mean the fact that people got to hear me sing.  I was very humbled that day. I had been stressed out all month over silly things. I felt like we were so caught up in all the "things" surrounding Christmas and that we weren't focusing on the real reasons. As I was sitting on the stands waiting to sing. I got really nervous...I started to pray and what I prayed for was quite different from the plea I had thought of pleading. All I could think to say was "just let me sing the message" As I was singing I felt the spirit so strongly and barely made it through the second verse without bawling. I made it to my last note and stood up there and bawled. I think that was the first time I ever really paid any attention to the meaning behind the words. It was the best Christmas present ever.

Can you tell she's so ready to open her presents!?!?!

I'm learning to share!

Nope, nevermind!

Trying to catch snowflakes!

Her favorite place to read a book! She will go all the way to her room pick a book and cralw all the way, with book in hand to this spot!

Joe with his man toy he got for Christmas! Now I can enslave him to do projects for me! Bwahahahahaha!

Christmas Eve!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

At last

We have been so super busy! I can't even remember everything we have done these past two months! For starters, my Cantico concert was Friday night and it was awesome! My solo went well, someone told my conductor that it was their favorite part of the program. (I think she was thinking of something else!)

We got our Christmas tree at Thornton's treeland right after Thanksgiving and it's all pretty and decorated in silver and teal shatter-proof ornaments, thank you Wal-Mart! It's so fun to have a house to decorate all cute for Christmas. Sadly, our house doesn't have single outdoor outlet! No idea how that happened. We can't put lights up outside. Bella loves all the decorations. We have cute decals on our windows and everyday we have to got to each window so she can touch each one.

Speaking of miss Bella, she is getting so big!!! She'll be 14 months at the end of the month! She's as tall as my friends 2 year old!!!! She is growing and learning so fast. She's getting a wide vocab.
So far she knows: Momma, Da-da,Papa, wasat (what's that?) I see?,baba (grandma),nana, bye-bye, bis (bisous french for kiss) kitkat (cat) meow,no-no, yeah.
She loves to sit and "read" books to herself. By read I mean talks in gibberish. I'm positive that she knows exactly what she's saying.
This girl loves to take baths! Yesterday, I decided I wold take a nice relaxing bath. As soon as she heard the water she was pulling off all her clothes and crying to come in. So, I shared mt bath with her. Not even 5 minutes into it I smelled something rather stinky and I looked down and yep, you guessed it, she POOPED all over me!!!!! I almost threw up!!!!!

Joe has one more week of school!!! Whoo-hoo! I can't wait! I can once again have a social life and my husband back! I've felt like a single parent these days.

Well, that's all I can think of for now.
